State regulation of commodity prices as a scientific concept: essence, contradictions and procedure of application in the EAEU member states
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
In today’s market, price is the most important natural regulator. A fairly common phenomenon in the markets is the state regulation of prices for goods. The paper pays attention to the price limits that are set by manufacturers and the state. The study examines in detail the state regulation of commodity prices as a scientific concept. As a result of content analysis and systematization of scientific research, the contradiction of state regulation of commodity prices as a scientific concept has been revealed. The following advantages of price limitation by the state are identified, which can be traced in the policies of the EAEU member states): increasing the affordability of goods, import substitution, the fight against the shadow economy. The disadvantages of state regulation of prices for goods, in particular on the territory of the EAEU, are recognized: restriction of competition and free trade, reduction in the quality of goods, reduction in the volume of supply and shortage of goods, increased risks of unemployment. The procedure for the introduction of temporary state price regulation for goods in the EAEU member states is investigated.
