The article is theoretical in nature and aims to understand the properties and patterns of science development as a system. The main provisions of this study are to analyze and generalize existing approaches to science as a system, modern interpretation of its features and key parameters, and identify new aspects of viewing science through the prism of a system in a changing world. The article used traditional methods of scientific knowledge and reviewed recognized approaches to systems in science. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the interpretation of the key parameters of science as a system (goal, elements, dimension, integrity, connections, limitations, requirements, input, output, conditions of stability, contradictions, threat of destruction) and understanding the basic properties of the system in the context of science. By analyzing the basic properties of the system as applied to science, the authors demonstrate their point of view on such properties as equifinality and inclusion in a higher order system, suggesting that the new system may not include all of science, but its individual theories, provisions, methods or tools that find their refraction and development from the perspective of new science. The authors' view of system analysis is presented, highlighting system-dynamic analysis, when the system is studied within the framework of time, and system-structural analysis, when changes in structural units and corresponding connections are identified. The second part of the article is devoted to the study of logistics science as a system. To confirm the theoretical principles and position of the authors, current practical examples are used, mainly from the field of logistics.
