The colossal technological shift known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) is transforming global industry, making it more connected, automated, and intelligent. Smart Manufacturing is the integration of operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), enabling the creation of fully connected and flexible production systems. These systems, based on real-time data, are capable of self-optimization of both individual processes and the entire production chain. Currently, the market for intelligent manufacturing technologies is actively growing, which, combined with the previous arguments, confirms the importance of researching this topic. This article explores the state of key technologies that form this new paradigm approach, analyzes the practical directions of its implementation, and outlines the prospects for further development. The author’s conclusions are based on theoretical data, including an evolutionary perspective on industrial revolutions, the essence of intellectual production, and its technological components. The article provides statistical evidence to support the author’s arguments. The focus is on exploring current trends in the intellectualization of production in the Russian Federation. The author highlights the importance of smart factories, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital twins. The novelty of the research lies in its complexity and situational applicability. On this basis, the author complements the 3C management concept with the principle of compliance and forms the 4C methodological concept, which can serve as a guideline for a new analytical model of the intellectualization of Russian industry. The following areas of development are highlighted: the democratization of technologies, the introduction of autonomous systems into automation processes, and the transition to a circular economy. This work serves as a guide for industrial enterprises in choosing their development vector and for government agencies in developing support measures. The study proves that accelerated intellectualization is not just a technological trend, but a condition for ensuring the country’s economic security, sovereignty, and sustainable development.
